Name: Ruto Nisteia
Age: looks to be around fifteen/sixteen, age unknown
Category: Villager
Height: Five nine
Abilities:
Personal Items:
Physical Description:
Dirty alice-blue hair coming to his neck with a pair of unnaturally violet eyes. Ruto's skin is deathly pale but also is very smooth, like that of a child's. Thin build, weighes quite light during his Body phase. Weightless during Ghost phase. He has a high-pitched voice compared to most males due to not reaching the stage when voices deepen.
Only seen wearing what he used to wear during the time he was human; never seen without it; well, it's not a stretch to say his clothes is a part of him now. The black clothing covers from ankle to shoulders, his feet hidden under a white pair of socks and wooden sandals. A bracelet made of bone and some silvery metal on his left wrist, and... that's about it.
Personality: Simple-minded and loves to have fun. He's a more 'act before you think' kind of guy, since the worst thing that can really happen to him is get into a lot of pain and sent to the void for a short period of time, or his friends get hurt or something.
Ruto enjoys listening to music, being praised or being the subject of jealousy, like someone commenting 'Oh, I wish I can go through walls like Ruto' or something. He generally likes food that has a strong taste because his five senses dulled a little from staying so long as a ghost. He hasn't lost his senses completely only because he tried hard to keep them. Being able to phase helped, also. On the flipside, he simply hates being stuck in the void; he has nothing to do there except think. And thinking always brought up the negative emotions inside him, like longing to be human again, the times he spent as a free child, et cetera. Other than that, he generally hates seeing someone being held against their will.
Background/History: Ruto was, if you haven't already guessed yet, a child from the past, an era when commoners all wore papers for clothing and had to actually work in order to live. He was a lone child. Back then, little Ruto had black hair and brown eyes with healthy pink complexion and all that. He never stopped smiling, bright and loved kid, you get the picture. He lived in a small village that was attacked by bandits. You see, there really wasn't anything like the police; the king of the country was responsible to keep peace and order amongst their people, but well, whatever happened, the village was attacked. All the men of the village died, but most children and women were taken by the said bandits to their hidden place in the mountains, Ruto included.
His life changed from a free child to something similar to a child slave; he was ranked lowest of the low because everyone of his villagers were placed in that rank by the bandits. The washing, foraging, cleaning, all that was left in the hands of Ruto and his villagers.
At the age of fifteen, the kids amongst his age planned to escape. Ruto joined naturally, hating the bound life he was currently in. The escape was, unfortunately, not a well-laid plan; some died in the process due to the security measures placed around the bandit's village, both to keep intruders out and to trap the escapees in. Some were more fortuneate, losing only a limb or two; that was how Ruto lost his left hand and half his friends; the ones who had led the rebellion.
Not too long after, the bandit village, where Ruto was trapped along with what was left of his villagers, was raided by the king's men. The overwhelming and well-trained forces quickly subdued the bandits; Ruto's hope grew, hope of being free once again. There were many casualties despite the circumstances; the bandits counterattacked quite marvellously. Some even went as far as using Ruto's villagers and other oppressed members as meat shields to escape. After the horrendous battle, there were more fallen bodies than standing.
Ruto had been in line of a cross fire during all this, which had been a fatal shot. His hope was crushed in moments, the hope of being free once again.
The king's men was ordered to burn what's remaining of the bandit's village, both as a ceremation for the oppressed, and a firey hell for the bandits [and since they couldn't really deduce the bandits to oppressed].
After some time, a travelling monk stumbled upon this place. He heard the mourns of spirits and the like still bound to this world when their remains were turned completely to ashes during the burning. One by one, he exorcized those, guiding the raging spirits to their eternal sleep... except for one. No matter how much the monk tried, this spirit wasn't able to leave the world; that meant that there was something still around which was tying the spirit down.
The monk's kind nature to help out all the spirits he ever come across motivated his fruitless search around the area; he was determined to free the spirit no matter what. Lucky for him, he found the source only after a few months had passed. He had found a skeletal hand without an owner on the outskirts of the burn site. The spirit seemed to resonate with it when the monk had brought it forward. In fact, the spirit had literally fused with the skeletal hand and became a boy with pale hair and unnatural eyes, but a boy nonetheless.
The monk had spoken with the boy soon after, hearing his tale. They had spent another couple months together, and found out the ins and outs of Ruto's special 'condition'. He was a ghost, that was for sure. And so, there was a time when Ruto couldn't keep holding his physical form anymore and simply disappear into a dark, empty place which they dubbed the 'void'. When this happened, his only connection to the physical world, his left hand, would leave him, dropping out of his reach. The monk had to resonate the spirt and bones together each and every time. After trial and error, they were able to successfully solve this problem with a very special type of metal which is said to be abundant only in the depths of hell. The material has no name, but it has a silvery hue and is very flexible. It is also a unique metal that can cross the boundaries of life and death.
Ruto stayed with the monk until the day he died; they travelled all over the place, dispelling ghosts possessing humans, exorcizing vengeful spirits, and so on. Ruto continued the journey alone afterwards, sometimes with others, but mostly alone. He saw the world's gradual change towards technology and all that, but as he learnt and saw more things, he started to hate the period of time when he had to stay in the void. He also noticed his gradual decline of senses, too; he was slowly losing his humanity, one by one. And so, his journey shifted from exorcism to survival; how can he continue living without being forced to that void, and how to stay humane?
His search had lead to the small place of Kironin; having no leads, and knowing that his gradual decline was a very slow process, he decided to settle down here for the time being. There were many different people around here from many different places; surely someone would know of a way... right?
Desires: To find a way to live forever and not needing to visit the void ever again.
Extras: When Ruto disappears, he goes into the void. It's a place without time, without change and without anything; a place he doesn't want to stay for long. Whenever there's no moon, [new moon, once or twice a month] Ruto disappears into the void for roughly twenty-four hours. This is because new moon is a time of the month when the spirits' power is stronger than the effects of his bracelet.

Height: Five nine
Abilities:
- Ghost phase. Since Ruto is a ghost, he can perform the typical 'ghost' abilities, such as walking through walls, floating, objects pass through him, etc. If someone passes through Ruto when he's in his Ghost phase, they will feel like a cold night air blew against their skin, but probably won't give any harm. Unless they had a weak heart and their brain fries by themself. He's not to blame if that happens, really.
- Body phase. This is when he becomes like an ordinary flesh and blood human. Walks around, can eat and hold objects, whatever normal humans do. He will bleed wisps of silvery smoke/mist instead of blood, though. He can phase between the two phases as he pleases thanks to a certain item he carries around. He sometimes forgets which phase he's currently in, though. Note that he cannot be in both phase at once, like his body in Ghost while his hand in Body, or something like that. Likewise, while there is an object 'inside' him while in Ghost phase, like if he was halfway through a door, he can't go into his Body phase without removing it first.
- Onibi. Typically, it looks like Will-o'-Wisp; a ball of blue-violet fire. The only twist is that it's actually a water attribute, a mixture of ice, water and gas; by gathering the vapour in the oxygen [or from a body of water], he can mold it into any shape he likes. He's just simple-minded to think of a certain shape every time, so he generally sticks to a typical throwable fireball shape, thus the name.
- Since he's already dead, he's immortal. When sustaining alot of damage though, he will just simply disappear, then reappear after a couple days.
- Lifting objects while in Body phase is a little different to that of a normal human's, though; he is capable of lifting very heavy objects, like uprooting a tree or lifting two/three people up at once. He has a risk of being sent to the void due to using too much energy, though.
Personal Items:
- A small bracelet made of various sizes of bone pieces woven on a flexible silvery metal. It's usually on his left wrist, under the clothes. Allows Ruto to freely enter Body phase. It's actually made with his left hand... or what's left of it.
