Supremacy Clause
- The proboards terms of service and any relevant legislation takes precedence to any other rules, as violation of either means banned (b&) from proboards and possibly V&.
- This is not an exhaustive list. Please conduct yourself so the boards can run smoothly.
Posting Rules
- Spelling.. punctuation.. and grammar.. please try to use them correctly. If you're not gonna put effort into writing your post, we won't invest any effort into reading it either. Don't forget about capitalization either! Capitalization is the difference between "I helped my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I helped my uncle jack off a horse." Keep this in mind.
- Please put effort into your roleplaying. That means read carefully and see what's going on. A half-assed post is a lot more disruptive than not participating at all. Nobody is rushing you and you're not gonna get a ribbon for being fastest poster.
- If you're going to join a thread, make sure you can commit. Don't jump into a thread and then forget about it after a few days. Bookmarking is a good way to keep track of threads, along with using the Journals in Character Accessories. Be sure to read what is going on so you don't have your character do some action that makes no sense, such as having him walk to a person who has already left the room. Making your character clueless on purpose is one thing, but if you're being lazy, this is not the board to do it on.
- No double posting, power posting, or spamming. If you wish to bump your thread, please delete the bumping post after it has been replied to. Also consider asking for it to be featured.
- Do not reply to threads that have not been replied to within a month (Gravedigging), and do not reply to threads that have been subjected to gravedigging, especially to note that it has been gravedug. If you have relevant information to contribute, open another thread.
Conduct
- The staff is not here 24/7 and nothing on this site requires immediate attention. We will try to solve your problem as soon as possible, but if you can't wait, call the cops.
- Resolve all disputes calmly over PM. If you cannot solve your problem while keeping yourself civil, then enjoy your ban.
- Do not harass other people on this site. If someone tells you to leave them alone, leave them alone. We also do not want griefers at our school. Violates will be b& with extreme prejudice.
- You may not control other people's characters without permission.
- Please change your display name to your character's name or a nickname. This will make it easier to identify who is who instead of trying to figure it out by username.
- Socialize in the chatterbox or by PM, not in the administrative areas.
Graphics
- No pornographic or offensive graphics are allowed.
- Signatures will not exceed a width of 800 pixels, and height of 250 pixels, and a file size of 300kb. Avatars should not be any higher or wider than 100px. (Even if proboards resizes it automatically, it still lags). If you need help resizing, you can ask for help.
- If your thread contains more than 1MB total of graphics. Please add a [56k warning] Tag to your title.
Content
- If you intend to use adult themes, please indicate so in the title (ex. (M)). We do not prohibit but frown upon such content. Put anything that would qualify as mature under a spoiler tag.
- If you must swear, do it sparingly. No need to be excessive with it, even if your character supposedly swears a lot. It's boring to read the same word over and over again in the same paragraph. We get the point.
- Try not to bypass the filter.
- Keep in mind that your characters only have as much power over other people's characters as the other people consent to. If your character is a trigger-happy terrorist, keep in mind that he'll miss every shot, even at point-blank(your gun would probably jam), unless someone consents to getting killed. Even if you write in your character's profile that he's a legendary marksman who never missed a shot in his life(now wouldn't that be embarrassing?). As implied in the gun jamming statement, a minimum amount of powerplaying is allowed of characters to avoid anything nonconsentual. Coordinating with the other RPer(s) is thus highly recommended. Same goes with altering the environment, except consent would be among the mod team.
