Your profile contains lots of things: the name that shows up for you, the email, your password, your personal information, your icon, etc.
Let's start at the beginning.
You access your profile only when logged in. You click on the little picture that says 'profile' in the strip across the top of the page. Or you can click on your username in any post that you make. From there, just go to 'Modify Profile.'
You cannot change your username.
You can change your display name. If you don't do anything to it, it will display your username to everyone. It would be smart to make this display the name of your character, because that way when you post, people will know who it comes from.
Below this is your personal information. Now, you could make your personal information apply to yourself, if you want, but it doesn't really make sense. I'd suggest entering the personal information for your character - as this is actually pertinent to the role playing game.
If you have a website, blog, art gallery, or anything online, you can enter a URL for your site and a short title. The title is what the link will read. If you don't have your own website, feel free to enter one of your favorite sites.
You can enter contact info, too. I dunno what the hell an ICQ is, but hey, if you have one, put it in.
Below all this it says "Personal text." This needs to be short. It will display under your name with every post you make. You can give yourself a little title, put a quote in, whatever floats your boat. Please don't make it inappropriate.
Then it says Personalized picture. You can choose from a selection that the forums provides, or specify your own (under "I have my own pic"). You must make the link to the actual picture file. There is no limit for size, although if you do not specify its height and width, it will automatically resize to 65x65, meaning you may get distortion if the length and height of the original picture are not equal. The highest you can set your avatar picture is 100x100. Please keep this appropriate too.
Time offset:
This is for whatever part of the country you're in. When you post, the time your post was made will also be put next to the post. If you want this time to read as the time it is wherever you are at, adjust it + or - the number of hours for your timezone. I can't help you there.
Signature: Below every post, you have the option of a signature. You can make it a little quote, or a small picture. If you decide to make your signature include a picture, please don't make it some big whoppin' image that'll take up half the screen with every post you make. People will tire of it. And of you.
Skin: This is for if you want your skin on Kironin Central to fit your element. As of now, it is the default one. If you change it however, the banner at the top will display your Element. Banners are made by Amefuri, Nyree, Shiori, or Kazeko, so do not redistribute in any method.
Account Preferences: Can't stand a ton of images that you need to scroll past? Never fear! Just disable them here. You can also choose whether or not you want to show your age or e-mail here, along with receiving mass e-mails, being invisible (offline to general members, online to staff), too.
Once you're done, click Change Profile at the bottom. If you don't click this, all your changes will be lost.
Also! While this isn't on the actual page, knowing how to Change Your Bookmarks is also important. The default is no notification, but you can easily change this through the dropdown menu provided. The link is here, or you can easily find it next to "Modify Profile" if you wish to go directly to your bookmarks.
